Terrain table:

       A terrain table using an array of linear actuators that correspond to the height (altitude) and image scale of the image projected from above.  The proposal was that the computer would project the terrain of interest, and that the image (not the table) would rotate and zoom for the best view, with the actuators lifting the flexible screen to create an accurate relief map.


 

Scale Model:

      A scale model made for the client.  The trainees would enter on the 2nd level.  Projector is on the 3rd level, projecting to a 45° mirror attached to the ceiling above the terrain table.


 

      This project is shown only as an example of past engineering by Steve Hines who currently offers consulting in the area of opto-mechanical equipment design, as well as a variety of licensable technologies.
