This work was done for the U.S. Army which wanted a classroom for training new troops.
The trainees enter on the 2nd level. Projector is on the 3rd level, projecting to a mirror attached to the ceiling above the terrain table.

Terrain table:
A terrain table using an array of linear actuators that correspond to the heights and image scale of the image projected from above. The computer projects the terrain, and the image (not the table) rotates and zooms for the best view, with the actuators creating an accurate relief map.
This project is shown as an example of past engineering by Steve Hines who currently offers consulting, as well as a variety of licensable technologies.
