Adjustable-Color Theater Light

Manufacturing License Available

The HinesLab Adjustable-Color Theater Light designed by Steve Hines, produces a range of colors without the need for lighting gels.  Each HinesLab Theater Light replaces many conventional theater lights, reducing the theater's costs through the significant reduction of lighting fixtures, replacement bulbs, and lighting gels.

Light from the reflector projects through a special filter, producing a wide range of colors needed in theatrical lighting.  The light's color is adjusted by rotating the handle to the desired color on the spectrum.  The effect can be seen in the picture above taken of a transparent Cellophane cigarette wrapper, photographed through the rotating filter used in the Adjustable-Color Theater Light.  The Theater Light is offered in two models, manually adjusted as shown above, or motorized which can be adjusted remotely from the control room.

...Theater costs are reduced through:

  1. Reduction in the number of light fixtures because one Hines theater light can replace many conventional light fixtures.

  2. Elimination of trial-and-error tests of filter gels in conventional theater lights.

  3. Elimination of colored lighting gels.

  4. Convenient remote changes of the color can be made during the production.

This is a technology announcement and license offer, not a product being offered for sale.  Manufacturers of theater lights are invited to contact Steve Hines about a manufacturing and sales license.  HinesLab currently offers consulting and novel solutions to your problems as well as a variety of licensable technology....
