Floating Cloud Signs

Manufacturing license available.

Floating Cloud™, designed by Steve Hines as a rich, varied display technology which uses Moiré patterns to attract attention to a sponsor's lighted logo.  HinesLab Cloud™ signs are well suited for bus stops, kiosks, store fronts and malls, and airport and train station advertising.  Use HinesLab floating Cloud™ signs behind the counter of a restaurant or bar to pull customers in, or on disco walls or as the dance floor.  In all versions, HinesLab Cloud™ signage creates a floating background of dots to draw the viewer's attention to the sponsor's logo or graphic.  The sign interacts individually with each viewer as if meant for them alone.

...The background pattern can be made to:

  1. move in the same direction as a viewer's motion,

  2. in the opposite direction of a viewer's motion,

  3. at right angles to the viewer's motion,

  4. to explode (expand) as the viewer approaches,

  5. to collapse (shrink) as the viewer approaches,

  6. to expand and shrink, even for a stationary viewer, or

  7. to spin.

Floating Cloud™ Sign

Like all Cloud™ signs, the Floating Cloud™ sign is interactive... when a viewer walks past the sign, the background dots follow.  When the viewer stops, the dots stop, playfully mocking the viewer.  The background dot pattern always maintains the same angular size to the viewer, so that when the viewer backs away, the dots appear to enlarge relative to the frame.  All done with ultimate reliability.  Lighted area, 48 H x 72" W max.

Zooming Cloud™ Sign

The Zooming Cloud™ sign provides interactivity, plus, even if the viewer stops moving, the background dot pattern zooms in and out to attract their attention.  High reliability.  Lighted area, 48 x 48" max.
